THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
This is the message Jesus preached that must be rightly understood and rightly responded to in order to be reconciled to God. The message and response are illustrated below.
GOD'S PLAN
God created us for a relationship with Himself through his son Jesus Christ.
MAN'S PROBLEM
Man has broken that relationship with God through sin (breaking God’s moral laws). Unforgiven sin causes eternal separation from God.
GOD'S PROVISION
Jesus lived a perfect life without sin. Because he is merciful and loving, he took upon himself the punishment that we deserve (eternal separation) by dying on the cross for our sins.
MAN'S RESPONSE
To be reconciled to God you must trust in Jesus alone to wash away your sin (remove that which causes separation) AND turn away from following your sinful destructive ways and make a decision to follow Jesus’ pure and righteous path.
GOD'S PROMISE
Those who repent of their sins and put their complete 100% trust in Jesus alone for salvation will be reconciled to God and receive eternal life.
WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?
1.
A person who believes and confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord (God) (Romans 10:9-10)
2.
A person who recognizes his need for salvation (Matthew 5:48)
3.
A person who has submitted his life to the Word of God (John 8:31)
